Paphiopedilum insigne

This is a terrestrial from Nepal and northern India that can be found growing on limestone cliffs at elevations of 2000m. It requires intermediate conditions, moderate to full shade and high humidity. The inflorescence can bear up to two flowers that bloom from autumn to spring. This plant is used for many hybrids.
