Masdevallia abbreviata

The small Masdevallia is a miniature epiphyte with rhizomes that can be found growing in the cloud forests of Ecuador and Peru at elevations of up to 2800m. It requires generous water during growth, partial shade, high humidity and cool to warm growing conditions. The flowers bloom in the late winter and early spring.
