Lycaste aromatica
The Sweet Scented Lycaste is a medium to large epiphyte/lithophyte/terrestrial that can be found in Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua. It grown in the rainforest trees or on limestone cliffs at 900 1500 m. There can be up to fifteen cinnamon scented flowers at a time in the spring. It requires a lot of water during growth, but should be given a dry period until new roots appear. Moderate shade and humidity should be given in cool to intermediate growing condition. It has a yellow flower with the petals almost perpendicular to the sepals with a tri-lobed lip.
