Laelia autumnalis

This is a small to medium sized epiphyte/lithophyte that is endemic to Mexico where it can be found growing in open oak forests at altitudes up to 2600m. It requires cool to intermediate growing conditions, partial shade to bright light, moderate humidity and generous amounts of water during active growth. The inflorescences have many flowers and blooms during the winter bearing a flower with bright purple sepals and petals with a purple lip that is yellow in the centre.
