Laelia anceps
The Two-edged Laelia is a medium sized epiphyte with pseudobulbs that is endemic to Mexico and Honduras and can be found growing from coffee plantations and pastures to oak forests at elevations up to 1500m. There are many varieties of this species with a wide range or pseudobulbs sizes. It requires cool to intermediate growing conditions, generous water during growth, partial shade to bright light and moderate humidity. It is best cultivated in a large pot with well-drained mix. Flowering occurs in the fall to spring. The sepals and petals are a lavender color and the lip is fuchsia with a yellow interior and slightly veined.
