Euchile mariae
The Marie's orchid is a medium sized epiphyte with pseudobulbs that is found only in Mexican dry oak forests at elevations of 1000 to 2000 m. It requires a lot of water during active growth, but once the psuedobulbs have reached maturing a dry resting period should be enacted to induce flowering. Moderate shade and humidity in cool to intermediate climate is required. This species is best mounted on wood or tree fern because of its pendulous nature. Up to 4 flowers are produced that bloom in the spring and early summer months. The sepals and petals are grass green and there is a large whit tubean lip with a green interior.
