Dendrobium aphyllum

This species is called the Leafless Dendrobium rightfully for its deciduous nature. This species is found in India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Java, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia in orchard trees on open lowlands. It is a small to medium sized epiphyte that prefers hot growing conditions and partial shade. It blooms in the late spring to summer after the leaves have dropped. Water should be reduced for about 5 months after new growth matures.
