Cymbidium sinense var. Ta Ming

This is a species that has been in cultivation for centuries in China and Japan where it is prized for its diverse flower color. It can be found throughout Asia at elevations up to 2300m where it grows as a terrestrial species. It requires shade/moderate shade (provided by dense mixed/evergreen forests in nature) and cool to intermediate growing conditions. The inflorescences are erect and can reach 80 cm in height upon which up to 20 strongly scented flowers are borne from autumn to spring.
