Coelogyne flaccida
This species is an epiphytic herb from the Himalayas in India and Nepal to southern China. It is primarily found in mountain forests that have a distinct dry season; as such it should be given a period of less water when more mature but should never be allowed to dry out. It is an intermediate grower that required bright yet indirect sunlight as well; the minimum winter temperature is 10C. Due to the flowers pendulous nature this species is best grown in a hanging basket. The inflorescences have around nine fragrant flowers that bloom simultaneously from the spring to early summer months. Most species of this genus are susceptible to stress due to a change in its surroundings so only bother if necessary.
