Cattleya skinneri alba

The species skinneri is an epiphytic/terrestrial with pseudobulbs found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama in humid forests around 1250m in elevation. It is a somewhat fragrant flower that blooms in the spring to early summer with four to twelve flowers. It required adequate water while in growth, moderate shade and humidity as well as intermediate to hot growing conditions. It can be potted in an epiphyte mix or mounted. The skinneri species is the national flower of Costa Rica.
