Cattleya maxima

This epiphyte/lithophyte is a dry coastal forest species found from Ecuador to northern Peru. Each pseudobulb bears a single leaf about 25 cm long. The erect inflorescence has up to 15 flowers in the autumn and winter, each about 12 cm in width. This species prefers intermediate to hot growing conditions.
